Florida Counseling Association Leadership Development Conference Getting Back to Basics June 25-26, 2010 Daytona Beach, Florida Counselors from FCA chapters, divisions, and state leadership enjoyed a weekend of leadership training at the Leadership Development Conference in Daytona Beach. The LDC committee provided an excellent program that empowered and inspired counseling leaders from the past, present, and future. Participants learned more about the chapter, regional, division, and state structure of FCA and opportunities to make a difference for counselors through networking, advocacy, professional development, and legislation advocacy. Florida Counseling Association Leadership Represents Florida Counselors at ACA Convention Your FCA leadership joined counselors from throughout the US and from many countries around the world at the American Counseling Association Conference in Pittsburg, PA. I was joined by Candy Hertsch, FCA President-Elect, and Adam Colando, FCA President-Elect Elect, as well as many Florida counselors. During the conference, FCA's leadership worked with the Southern Region to ensure Florida has a strong voice in representing counselors' interests at ACA's Governing Council. We also worked to invite excellent presenters, exhibitors, and sponsors to the 2010 FCA Convention - Counselors: Stand Up and Be Counted! in Miami, Florida on 10.10.2010. The difficult economy has impacted our clients, our students, and our school and community counseling settings. Join your fellow counselors in sharing the valuable work we do to help our communities and state; and advocate for the recognition and support we deserve. This years convention will focus on how counselors can demonstrate our value in whatever setting or specialty we work. Presenters will share information on how counselors can provide excellent services to clients and students, while making the public aware of our contributions.
